LOCAL BODIES.
MOUNT ROSKILL ROAD BOARD. The Mount Roskill Road Board met last night, Mr. C. M. McCullough presiding. Universal Speed Limit.—Tile board was advised that a transport officer, having inspected the board's district in regard to the universal 30 miles per hour 6peed limit, proposed to recommend to the Minister that all roads north of and including Mount Albert Road should be restricted. The south (rural) portion of the road district was not considered to require that restriction. The board concurred with the suggestion.
Town Planning.—The whole board was appointed a town planning committee to consider a description of the details of town planning and civic survey required to be prepared by local authorities. Drainage. — The board expressed its agreement with the proposed extension of sewer reticulation proceedings by the Auckland and Suburban Drainage Amendment Act, 10.33, and to alter the boundaries to include certain areas.
Water Charges.—The legal and finance committee advised the board to exercise its legal rights to enforce the recovery of the balance owing by the Royal Oak school committee of £i for arrears of water charges failing immediate payment.
