WOOL CHEQUES.
SHEEP FARMERS' MONEY.
PAYMENT IN TEN DAYS. Friday, December 11, has been named as the happy day on which sheep farmers throughout the Auckland province will be able to draw prompt payments for the sale of their season's clips. Between now and December 11 clerks in the various auctioneeer's offices in the city will have a busy time, and, in the words of one woolbroker this morning, "they will have to be pretty 'slick' to get their accounts up to date in 10 days."
With the average rate about 60 per cent ahead of last season, an average price per pound of about 14d, and more than £189,000 extra to divide among the producers, there should be many smiling faces on December 11. The sale has put farmers in ' the healthiest position for years, and they will at last have a little ready money in excess of their requirements. Those who have not yet sent in their clips are confident that current prices will be maintained at sales in the South.
