LANCASHIRE SOCIETY.

The first annual picnic of the Lancashire Society was held on Sunday, the place chosen being Oneroa. Three hundred and fifty members and friends enjoyed the trip on the Duchess, and the day at Oneroa turned out gloriously fine and sunny. Hot water and milk were provided, also sweets and ic« cream for the children. The following committee helped to make the day a great success: Alesdames Gates, Woolley, Kershaw, Thomasson, Alcssrs. Bibby, Smith, Tyson, Towers, Lloyd, Rigby, Johnson, I. Bean. Sports occupied a considerable time, the following winning the races and competitions: Boys and girls under 5.
