MUNICIPAL THEATRE.
(By Tele-graph—Press Association.)
OTAIvI, this day
A special meeting of the Otaki Borough Council decided to take steps for the erection of a municipal theatre.
The council also decided to write to the Tourist Department asking that overseas visitors be shown the attractions of Otaki.
One of the first links between Hauraki Plains roads and those of the rest of the Thames Valley was broken yesterday by the closing of the ferry over the Waihou Eiver at Komata !N"orth. The bridging of the river at Paeroa and at Kopu brought about the closing of ferries at these places and the improvements to the roads leading to the bridges caused such a reduction in traffic to the remaining two ferries that they have now both been closed.
