RAILWAY DELAY.
WAGON OFF THE RAILS. MORNING SIDE ACCIDENT. The derailment of a butter van on the goods train leaving Helensville at 4.10 p.m. for Auckland caused a blockage on the line near Morningside at 7.45 last night. As a result the Railway Department had to call taxi cabs to their aid to transport passengers on the 8.5 Auck-land-Henderson train between Morningside and Avondale.
AVorkmiMi experienced a good deal of difficulty in replacing the van on the track, as all four wheels were derailed. The train was able to get under way again about 11 p.m. The 7.35 Swanson-Auckland tram waited at Auckland and 39 passengers were brought to Avondale in ca'os and taken on to Henderson. About 20 passengers on the 9.15 train to aitakere were transferred from Morningside to Avondale by tramear.
