i FANCY DRESS PARTY. i Entertainment in the form of a children's fancy dress dance was given by the Ponsonby Rugby League in their club rooms. The hall was beautifully decorated with the club colours, festoon's and streamers making a gay and colourful setting. The organisers are to be congratulated on making the dance one of the brightest and enjoyable of this season. Mrs. Alexander Follick was respon- 1 sible for the excellent taste displayed in the judging, and the latest dance airs were rendered by Mr. Harrington. Prizewinners were: Best dressed girl, under five years, Vanity, Patricia Fairbrother; boy, huntsman, Billy Wheeler; original, Father Xmas, B. O'Brien; special. Miss Lavender, Dorothy McKeown; best dressed girl, second section, Russian doll, Molly O'Brien; boy, golliwog. Bobby Thompson; original. Xmas Cracker, Betty McKeown; third section, best dressed girl, Chocolate, Marjorie Richards; boy, cricketer, Tommy Paul; most original, bride, Joy Mclndoe; special prizes, Maori couple, Valerie and Keith Hughes; Pompadour, J. Cameron.
