LUCKY TO BE ALIVE. FARMER'S LACK OP CAUTION. ' (By Telegraph.-—Own Correspondent.) TE KUITI, Tuesday. "1 am of the opinion that if the fuses controlling this line had not blown, a fatal accident might easily have occurred," said the engineer of the Waitomo Power Board, Mr. N. Davidson, in reporting on Itlie case of a Tahaia fanner who had struck an 11,000-volt power line with a stacker. When the linesman arrived and with safety devices started to see if the stacker was "alive," the farmer told him the stacker was "dead." Evidently he had touched it to see, although it was still tangled up in the wires. The members of the board considered the farmer a lucky man that the line had tripped out. AUCTIONS.
