BAND BOYS STRIKE.
BARRICADED IN BARRACKS. LONDON, November 16. Sixteen band boys of the Leicestershire Regiment, recruited from an English Catholic orphanage, barricaded themselves in a room at tlieir barracks at Londonderry on Saturday as a protect against the conditions of service. declined to answer the roll-call on Sunday, and when they refused to surrender, a military fire brigade played hoses on the boys through the windows. The boys replied with a fusillade of cups and other articles, knocking a fireman from a windowsilL
Then the beds and furniture were found to be ablaze, calling for further activity on the part of the fire brigade. The bovs ultimately walked out ■when the commandant of the battalion promised to make an investigation into their complaints.
