Stiff Duty on Souvenirs Made In Japan. 100 PER CENT TAX IMPOSED. (Received 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, November 10. The fears that Britain will be swamped by cheap Coronation goods from Japan and other countries have been allayed by a Treasury announcement of a temporary total duty of 100 per cent on all sucli articles to apply for the six months beginning December 15. The duty applies to all souvenirs pictuiing Royalty, crests and similar Coronation designs, and also to flags and In view of the special circumstances Gei - many and France are waiving their rights under trade agreements.
