BUSINESS IS FAIR. LOCAL BODIES SELLING. WOOLWORTHS (SYDNEY) UP AGAIN j There was steady bidding on the Auckland Stock Exchange this morning, and a fair list of saies was finalised at the first call. Banking and insurances were practically unchanged. An exception was English and Scottish Banks, which were quoted lower, from £0 to £15 3/. Bankers and Traders Insurance Company of Sydney were asked for, with buyers of the 10/ shares at £1 11/ and no sellers. Sellers of Northern Steam dropped tlieir limits Id, to 4/8, buyers still in at 4/4. Dominion Breweries had a sale. of the new issue 3d higher, at £1 14/6, after which there were buyers at £1 14/ and no sellers, and neither buyer nor seller for the ordinaries. New Zealand Breweries were on offer at £2 13/6, with no buyer. Peters Ice shares were quoted easier, from £1 9/ to £1 11/6.. , In Australian issues Tobaccos held the recent rise, but Broken Hills, Glass and Coles were all on offer at lower rates, the first mentioned selling 6d cheaper, at £4 3/. with more available at that figure. Wool worths (Sydney) had another spurt, with a market between £6 19/ and £7 1/. Local body issues received more attention, and sales were made of Auckland City and Wellington City at about late rates. Wootworths (Sydney) at £7. Orders during the morning were not numerous, and only a moderate list of sales was added at the noon call. Bidding was inclined to be quiet, with brokers satisfied to confirm recent quotations. In the banking section New Zealands had a sale a penny higher, at £2 1/4, and Unions were still very firm, with buyers at £9 IS/ and no sellers. Holders of Goldsbrough, Morts dropped their offers 2d, to £1 16/10, and Morts Dock had business a little better, at 13/8 and 13/9, with more available at the higher rate. The only really strong feature of the market was provided by Woolworths (Sydney), which touched a new high level with a sale at £7. and a subsequent market between £6 19/ and £7 1/. SAXES COMPLETED.
