AUCTIONEERS' COMMISSION. Objection was taken fcy a local produce merchant to-day to a statement in a letter sent by the secretary of the Auckland Commercial Gardeners' Society to the Hon. W. Lee Martin. Minister of Agriculture, and published in Saturday's "Star." It was stated in the letter that, among other recent increases ill costs which had caused serious diflicultv to tomato growers, auctioneers' charges had been raised. The city
merchant points out that the commission is still 10 per cent, as it has been for some years. In Auckland, however, a rebate of 2-J per cent was allowed until recently.
