CRICKETER INJURED.
RUNNING ACROSS ROAD. Ensiling from the St. Helicr's Bav cricket field across the road 011 Saturday to take shelter during a shower. Mr. John Stubbing, of 83, Rose Road, Ponsonby, was struck by a motor car and suffered concussion. 'lie was admitted to the Auckland Hospital, where he was reported later to be progressing favourably. Mr. Stubbing was a member of an Avondale cricket- team which was playing Tamaki. The game had been started only a short time, Avondale having about _ six runs 011 the board when the accident occurred. Play was then abandoned.
