OBJECT OF EXHIBITION. INVITATION TO ARTISTS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) A request was made that a committee be set up in New Zealand to brine* the matter under the notice of the Dominion artists, and organise the matter to this end. The Association of New Zealand Art Societies has advised the Government that it is agreed to act. as agent and do its best to further t'-^-project. Art societies will be asked to submit selected works of artists for final selec-' tion by a committee appointed ;>y the- 1 association. The idea of the promoters of the exhibition is that the interest of societies of artists rather than of national galleries shall be enlisted.
