MINISTER OF LANDS.
AUCKLAND DISTRICTS TOUR. ROTORUA-TE AROHA-THAMES. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Minister of Lands, the Hon. F. Laiigstone, will leave this evening on an official visit to Rotorua, Te Aroha, Thames, Wailii and other parts of the Thames electorate. At Rotorua the Minister will make an inspection of exotic plantations of the State Forestry Service and will give special consideration to recommendations which havfe been made to him by his officers for the utilisation of timber in the more mature forest at Whakarewarewa. At Te Aroha, the Minister will inspect boring operations in his Department's, domain, where good results have'followed a bore recently authorised by the Minister to test ,the ground" for a fresh supply of hot water, which will be required if an extension of the bathing facilities is to be effected. In the Thames electorate Mr. Langstone will visit Wliangamotu, on the eastern coast of the Coromandel Peninsiila, where rival claims of forestry and land' settlement require his consideration. He will return to Wellington on Tuesday morning;.
