GARDEN FETE.
MOUNT ALBERT SCOUTS. An enjoyable afternoon was spent on Saturday, when Mtv and Mrs. W. H. Worrall, of New North Road, Mount Albert, lent their garden to the Mount Albert Scouts, in aid of funds. T'he fair was opened by the Mayor of Mount Albert, Mr. H. A. Anderson, and brisk business was done at the many well filled stalls. Included in .the afternoon's programme was a free gift from Santa Claus for every child that was' present. The garden was beautiful with its summer flowers and wonderful old trees. Tea was served on the lawn, which is shaded by large walnut- trees, . while borders of red currants, covered with fruit, were much admired. The stalls were as follow:—Sweet stall, Mesdames F. Mcßride and F. Halliday; produce, Mount Albert Boy Scouts; cakes, Mrs. and Miss M. Ryan; fancy work, Mrs. R. and Mrs. A. F. Bennett; Ice cream, Mrs. R. Mackay and Mrs. Bennett, jun.; dips,. Mrs. Sugdcn; flower stall, Mrs. A. M. Smith; afternoon tea, Mrs. G.. Hawke and girl guides. Coconut shies were in charge of the scoutmaster.
