LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
THIRD GRADE FINAL. The final of the Auckland Ruirby League's third grade knock-out competition resulted : City 29 Manukau IS CLUB CELEBRATIONS. Officials, players and supporters of the Ellerslie United Club foregathered in the Returned Soldiers* Hall on Saturday evening, when the third grade team, which won the Auckland championship, was honoured. Mr. O. Sly presided, and the A.R.L. junior management and Referees' Association were represented. Presentations were made to the club secretary, Mr. G. Whaley, and to Mr. C. E. Gregory, fhe latter being paid hearty compliments upon his coaching of the third grade team. The City Rovers' fourth grade championship team were guests at a dinner at the Royal Hotel on Saturday evening, when tli£ coach. Mr. Chris. Olsen, was presented with a club blazer, and Alan Legge received a gold medal as the most improved player. The club chairman, Mr. George Hunt, presided. _ |
