LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
THIRD grade knockout. FINAL AT CARLAW PARK. The final match of the season was approved by the Board of Control of the Auckland Rugby League last evening, Mr. G. Grey Campbell .presiding. City thirds will meet Manukau at Carlaw Park Xo. 2 ground on Saturday, with Mr. J. Hawkes as referee and Messrs. G. Kelly and M. Renton as linesmen. Admission to the park will be free. It was decided to accede to the South Auckland Rugby League's request to provide certain particulars regarding grandstand designs. The schoolboys' management was congratulated upon the success of its first annual gala. A deputation was received from the schools' management on a constitutional matter. The annual presentation of prizes will take place at the Town Hall Concert Chamber on November 16. NEWTON CLUB. SCHOOLBOYS EXTERTAINED. At the Paget Hall, Ponsonby, last evening the Newton Rangers Club entertained its schoolboy players, the committee chairman, Mr. Roy Baddiley. welcoming members, parents and friends and apologising for the absence of the president, the Hon. W. Parry. Mr. G. Grey Campbell, chairman of the Auckland Rugby League Control Board, after congratulating the clnb on the fine equipment of its school teams, presented medals to Tom Graydon, Allan Waters, Albert Moyle (most improved player), Dawson Donaldson, Sydney White, Allan Leaning, Robert McCready and Jock Sorby. The boys presented their delegate, Mr. C. Moyle, with a wristlet watch, and handed to the chairman for the club, an enlarged group photograph of the combined teams.
