NO RUSH.
END OF PRESENT SESSION.
RECESS NEXT FRIDAY.
(By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Friday.
Although the Prime Minister has announced that the House of Representatives will go into recess next Friday there is no appearance of . an inordinate "rush" such as is usual when a session is drawing to a close. Of fcne few remaining bills to he brought down the only one that seems likely to prove contentious is the Statutes Amendment Bill, of which Mr. Savage said: It would be. easier to say what is not m it than what is in it." 1 This 'bill is a new type of "washingup" measure, and will contain odds and of legislation which are either not important enough to come down as. separate bills, or are required to clear up doubtful or obscure points in past Acts. It will contain perhaps 100 clauses, each Minister having contributed his qu&ta to the total. It will make its atjpearance on Tuesday.
