EFFICIENT DEPARTMENT. WELLINGTON, Thursday. A few minutes was all that was needed to secure the passage of the Post and Telegraph Amendment Bill in the House of "Representatives to-day. The Postmaster-General, Mr. Jones, detailed the main provisions of the measure and the bill received the blessing of Mr. A. Hamilton (National, Wallace), who was Postmaster-General in the last National Government, who paid a warm tribute to the efficiency of the Department.
