DOCTOR'S SERVICES.
LATE DR. KEITH MACKY. 11l memory of the late Dr. Keith Mucky, a clock has been presented to the massage department of the Auckland, Hospital by Mrs. Alfred Kidd, 011 behalf of the Auckland Hospital Auxiliary. Dr. Macky associated himself very actively with the work of the auxiliary. At a gathering yesterday the clock was handed to the chairman of the board, the Rev. W. C. Wood, to be passed on to the department. Mr. Wood reviewed the career of Dr. Macky, who had been officially appointed orthopaedic surgeon 111 1922, and had remained attached to the hospital until his death in May of this year. "The massage department started with a staff of three and was then located in a small room, part of the old casualty department," said Mr. Wood. "To-day the staff numbers 10, and the number of patients passing through the department is about 4000 per annum. It was owing to Mr. Macky's keenness and ability that the department is what it is to-day—equal to anything in Australasia."
