THIRD GRADE MEDAL AWARDED.
; At the meeting of the junior board of the' Auckland Rugby League last evening, ■Mr. D, Wilkie presiding. Mr. D. Mann reported 'on'thfe visit of Devonport thirds to Ngaruawahia, and Mr. J. Stonex on the trip of Marist reserves to Hikurangi. Mr. Stonex mentioned that Mr. Dunkley had been appointed secretary of the Northland League in. succession to Mr. J. Petterson, who had been transferred to Te Kuiti. It was announced that, the third grade knock-out semi-final, between Glenora and City, would take place at Morningside onj Saturday. Manukau have the bye. A I • W. Pengally, of Ponsonby Club,* was awarded Mr. J. F. W. Dickson's medal for the most sportsmanlike player in the third grade. A fourth grade Auckland player ordered off recently in a match at Kamo (North Auckland) was suspended for a Saturday. The Benson trophy, donated by Mr. Harold Green, was allocated to the second grade championship. The chairman welcomed club delegates, with whom a lengthy conference was held on activities. The management, he added, thanked the clubs for effective, co-operu-tioa during the seasop: -
