CLAY-BIRD SHOOTING.
AUCKLAND GUN CLUB. The Auckland Gun Club held a wellattended clay bird shoot at Piikuranga ou Saturday in ideal conditions. Results : — 7-Bird Eyeopener.—Out of a field of 20 shooters W. Turner (16yds) scored the only possible. Eleven others divided second and third, with six breaks. 15-Bird Trophy Handicap.—H. Hannigan (14yds), W. Turner (16yds), C. Bovill (14 yds), R. Neliofl: (13yds) each scored the possible and divided the sweepstake. In the shoot off for the trophy Bovill missed the first bird and Nehoflf the 18th bird, leaving Turner the winner after putting up the excellent performance of 33 birds straight— using his second barrel only once. 10-Bird American Shoot (all Off 14yds).— Possibles by L. Ramsey and H. Hannigan, C. Bovill securing third placd with nine breaks.
THAMES GUN CLUB. The Thames Gun Club hfcld a shoot on Saturday. Results: — Eye-opener Seven Birds.—T,. Thornton 7. J. Donnelly and A. McLean 5. Six-bird Sweepstake.—E. Thornton 6, J. Donnelly and A. McLean 5. McConnell Cup (10-bird point shoot). — E. Thornton 50, B. Wilsoil 45, A. McLean Double Rise (five birds). —E. Thornton 9, W. Sparks 7, J. B. Liggins 6.
