N.Z. HORSES RETURN.
F. D. JONES' TEAM. F. D. Jones, with Custos, Cerne Abbas and Cyrillian, arrived at Wellington from Sydney by the Awatea yesterday, and went home to Riccarton. Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Greenwood and Mr. and Mrs. C. N. Draper were also on board. The two-year-old Sigurd, who was sent tcr Sydney to race in the Breeders' Plate and Randwick, but was unable to run on account of catching a cold, returned. The Washdyke trainer E. J. Ellis was also on board with Kinnoull, Rebel Lad and Black Coat. Silver Coat was sold. The Australian jockey A. Russell, who has been in Sydney for the past nine months, came back to New Zealand with his old employer on the Awatea. Although able to ride about 8.0, Russell was unable to jet many rides in Sydney, and considers there is a much better opportunity here.
