WAITEMATA GARDENS
SOCIETY'S COMPETITION.
An interesting talk on "Chrysanthemum Culture" was given by Mr. R. Thornton last night at a largelyattended meeting of the Waitemata Horticultural' Society in the Northcote Returned Soldiers' Association clubroom. The members' monthly 1 competition produced a wealth of beautiful seasonable blooms, besides a good display of vegetables, fruit and pot plants. The possible aggregate of ten points was secured by Dr. C. W. Parr, the other awards of the judges, Messrs. D. P. O'Leary and A. E. Harding, being:— Mesdames J. L. Hanna, A. E. Harrison, H. N. Leefe, M. Oldbury, J. Prickett, K. Taylor, S. Mills, N. J. Campbell, F. M. Frith and Miss R. Bodle, eight points each; Mesdames E. A. Campbell, F. Taylor, A. E. Harding, J. Fawcett, seven points each; Mesdames J. Barrott, A. R. Shutes, Miss G. Bell, Mr. H. N. Leefe, six points each; and Mrs. J. Prescott, five points.
