When some straw packing caught firo in the factory store room of Chemicals, Limited, at 22, England Street. Ponsonby, yesterday afternoon, considerable damage was done to the wooden lining and ceiling of the store room. Two machines from the central and western districts fire stations attended the call. The flames, which were discovered soon after the outbreak, were extinguished in less than a quarter of an hour.
