"MADE IN JAPAN."
Trade in Coronation Emblems*] Causes Concern. SUBSTANTIAL ORDERS GIVEN. LONDON, October 5. The Manchester correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph" says that manufacturers are concerned about the substantial orders from Empire sources for coronation flags placed with Japanese instead of with British makers. A representative of one firm said that Japanese Union Jacks were selling in South Africa at a price below the cost of production in Britain. The idea of British children celebrating the Coronation by waving Japanese flags was distasteful. The first consignments of coronation flags to the Dominions from Manchester have already been shipped.
