NEW STATE GARAGE.
In a few weeks the Post and Telegraph Department's new garage in Stanley Street will be available for the increasing fleet of Government motor vehicles in Auckland. The interior .of the new building consists of a single large hall under a steel truss roof. The garage has frontages of 102 ft and 150 ft, and is well lit with skylights and windows. There will be all necessary assessories, including petrol pumps with reservoir beneath the floor, a pit, a car hoist and facilities, for washing down. There are also offices, stores, a lunch room and a dressing room. A vote of £9500 was 'made for the building. In addition to maintaining vehicles for its own use the Post and Telegraph Department also houses and services most of the cars used by the other Government Departments in Auckland.
