AMUSEMENTS.
CONCERT AND PAGEANT. A fragment of Victor Hugo's immortal "Les Miserables" was used by the late Norman McKinnel, actor and playwright, to make a plot for a most effective drama. Entitled "The Bishop's Candlesticks," this play will be produced by the Mount Albert Grammar School at its annual concert, to be held in the Town Hall on Thursday evening. Mass singing by hundreds of pupils, choral and orchestral items and a pageant entitled "Round the World by Television" will complete a thoroughly promising programme.
