PROTECTION SOCIETY.
CARD PARTY HELD. Its final bridge ancl mall jong party of the season was held by the ladies' committee of the Society for the Protection of Women and Children at the Rialto, Newmarket, yesterday afternoon. In the absence of the president, Mrs. A. E. Devore, the guests were received by Mrs. Preston Chambers and Mrs. Gustavo Pezaro. Prizes were won by Mrs. S. Wickstecd (contract) and Mrs. W. Coltman (auction). Among the players were: Lady Wilson, Mesdames A. Coutts, G. Devore, J. E. Wilson, C. D. Collins, L. M. Hare, A. Israel, E. Hutter, C. R. Iveeble, H. R. Walker, John Milner, L.
