CAGE BIRDS.
AUCKLAND CI/ÜB'S MEETING. There was a large attendance at the annual meeting of the Auckland Canary and Cage Bird Club, which was held last week. Presentations were made to the winners of the children's essay competition, which was held on the occasion of the club's annual show. Joy Gemmell, the winner, was presented with a 'silver cup, and Betty Law, second, a pair of, white budgerigars. Officers elected: —Patron, Hon. Eliot R. Davis; vice-patrons, Messrs. A. E. Healey, G. It. Hutchinson, W. J. Holdsworth and A. G. Osborne, M.P.; president, Mr. A. G. Barnes; vice-presidents, Messrs. G. Searle, F. J. Taylor, W. A. Binns, F. Field; secretary, Mr. R. Chambers; assistant secretary, Mrs. R. Chambers; treasurer, Mr. C. L. Sadgrove; auditors, Miss Brown and Mr. C. Cooper; show manager, Mr. F. J. Taylor; assistant show manager, Mr. F. H. Cooper; committee, Messrs. H. Brown, F. Slade, H. Fielder, G. Davison, T. Frazer, J. McLachlan, A. Sandal, F. H. Cooper, and R. A. White.
