RADIO IN SCHOOLS.
SUCCESS AT ELIiERSLIE. The installation of radio sets in j schools has become popular because of the way in which it provides both entertainment and education for the pupils. Tile Ellerslie public school is the I latest in Auckland to be fitted with radio receiving apparatus, consisting of a 12-valve set with speakers in the class-rooms and one in the playground. A gramophone turntable is also attached to the set to enable the playing of any particular record over the speaker system. Each speaker has its own volume control, Ond call be regulated to whatever volume the teacher requires. In addition to the radio there are facilities for cinema entertainment and educational films. A roomy theatre has been erected in the playground, with ample seatiilg accommodation.
