The stock markets account ended j checrfully after what might have been a ' disturbed week following the revaluation of the franc. The success of Friday's working international monetary arrangement, assisted by the absence of repercusi sions in .Paris, whpre the Bourse is re | opening after a week, stimulated the ! London security markets. Gilt-edged-;, j affected by undue bearish:;ess earlier in j the week, completely recovered. Dominion | stocks were firm. Iron and steels appre- ' ciated on Sir Samuel Ho a re's hint of the | acceleration of rearmament. Industrials | reflected the market's view that the franc | devaluation did not threaten British | inditstry. The continuance of British trade recovery is instanced by the fact that over £1,000,000,000 more is circulating in trade J and industry than at the corresponding i time last year. According to bankers' clearing house cheques and bills dealt | with last week represented £162,291,000, j making a total Increase for the first threequarters of the year of approximately £1,130,000,000. Wool Market Strong. Emphasising the strength of the wool market evidenced by Australian sales, experts point out that Yorkshire thereby is showing buyers' confidence in present values. Topmakers feel that the Japanese cannot hold a:oot much longer. Butter and Cheese. Butter has been fairly active this week.
