TRACK REPAIRS.
TRAMS IN QUEEN STREET. START MADE WITH THE WORK. At an early hour this morning a start was made with the work of relaying the foundations of the tram tracks in Queen Street. A commencement was made a short distance below the intersection of Wyndliam Street, where a gang of workmen, using pneumatic drills, made a start with the breaking up of the hard foundation. Powerful floodlights were used. The work is to be carried on during hours when the tram service is not running, and every effort is to be made to minimise inconvenience while the operations are in progress.
