LEAGUE CURTAIN.
WIN FOR RICHMOND. CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS. MANUKAU v OVERWHELMED. The Auckland Rugby League's principal competitions concluded on Saturday, when several finals were played at Carlaw Park ill the presence of particularly large crowd of spectators. The chief game of the day was the meeting of Richmond, runners-up in the senior championship, and Manukau, winners of the championship and the Roope Rooster knock-out competition. Honours were even between the thirteens with a win apiece, but in Saturday's game Richmond demonstrated their superiority in no uncertain measure, running out winners to the tune of 30 points to 9. The game was fast, open and willing from bell to bell and Richmond deserved their victory. The final of the Plielan Shield competition was keenly contested between Ponsonby and Marist, honours ultimately resting with the former, while in the reserve grade match to decide who should hold the Stallard Cup—the trophy offered for the knock-out competition—Marist, the holders, just managed to scramble home against Richmond. Results were as follow:—Champion of Champions.—Richmond 30, 'beat Manukau !). Plielan Shield.- —Final: Ponsoilby 13, beat Marist !). Stallard Cup.—Marist 13, beat Richmond 12.
