PARACHUTE DESCENTS.
Two descents by parachute were made at the Mangere Aerodrome yesterday by Mr. G. W. Sellara. The first was restricted to about 1500 ft, on account of low clouds, but when the weather cleared a really spectacular jump was accomplished. Piloted by the club instructor, FlightLieutenant D. M. Allen, a 'plane ascended to over 5000 ft before the parachutist took off, and after drifting a considerable distance before a fairly strong wind, Mr. Sellars made a perfect landing in the aerodrome. Later Mr. Allen gave a display of aerobatics.
