TEAM GAMES FOR SCHOOL SPORTS.

Team games are always popular, whether it be for indoor parties or for games out of doors. Here are some of them which may prove useful.— String Game. Form the company in two lines. Have ready two pieces of string of the same length and knot the ends of each together so that the rings formed are exactly the same size. At the word "Go" the first girl in each line puts the ring of string over her head, works it downwards over her arms and body, lifts her feet out of it, and hands it to the next girl—and so on down the line and back again. If boys are taking part they may be made to work the 'tring upwards. Paper Bag Game. For this the company is divided into two teams, and each team divides its members into two rows. These sit facing each other. A pile of paper bags is provided for each team and placed on a chair at the end of the "aisle" formed by the rows. At the word "Go" No. 1 in each team and her partner sitting opposite, get up and run to this chair. No. 1 picks up a bag, blows it up, and her partner bangs it. They

must return to their seats before No. 2 and her partner in each team start off and repeat the same procedure. Match Box Game. Form in two teams, each person behind the other. The leader of each team holds a match' box. She opens it, takes out a match, holds this in her left hand, closes the box and passes it on with her right hand. When it reaches the end of the row each girl having done this, the last girl reopens the box, replaces the match, closes the box and passes it on to the girl in front, who does the same. On the return journey it must be passed with the left hand. If the box is not properly, closed it should be sent back to the end of the line. Umpires are needed in this game, to see that the rules are not infringed through haste. Ball Game. The people sit in two rows. The girl at the end of each row has a tennis ball. She puts her legs together, ankles touching, and when the word is given, she places the ball on her feet. She then has to nasc Mt to the feet of her next-door neighbour, and so on down the line and back again. If the ball rolls off, it must be retrieved by the person who was passing it on when it fell. A similar game may be played with a lemon. I

Peas And A Straw. Have two saucers of peas placed side by side, and another two empty saucers in a similar position about six yards away. Provide each member of the two teams with a straw. Starting from just behind the empty saucers, they have in turn to run up to the other saucers and by drawing in their breath, carry a pea back again to the empty saucer on the eiul of the straws. If they drop it it must be picked up again in this fashion. Whichever team lias emptied its saucer lirst has won. Match Box On Nose. This is great fun. Get the outer covers of two match boxes and pass them from nose to nose without touching with the hand, all the way down the line and back. Ball Between Legs. The t,eam3 stand in two lines, with legs apart. The leader of each line holds a ball in her hand. At the word "Go" she sends the ball down the line between the legs of her team. If the ball misses its objective'and rolls out of the line at any point, the original thrower must pick it up and start again. When it has run through the legs, the last girl picks it up and runs to the front, and so on.

Penny Game. Those present stand in two lines facing each other. On a chair at the end of eacli row are 12 pennies. At the given word the first girl takes up a penny in her left hand, puts it into her right, which is laid flat. She holding her hand flat, turns it into her neighbour's left hand. The neighbour turns it from her left hand into her right, and then into the next girl's hand. Meanwhile the other pennies are being sent along in the same way. All hands must be held flat throughout, and if a penny is dropped it must be picked up by the guilty girl before any more can be passed. At the further end of the row are; two other chairs" on which all the pennies must be placed before the last girl begins to pass them back again. The game is won by the team which gets all the pennies back again 011 the original chair first. Corkscrew. Members of two teams stand facing each other, leaving enough space between each person to enable a runner to get through. The head girls then corkscrew in and out between each member, and back to their'places again. This is repeated by everyone, and whichever team has last man home again first is the winner.
