HERBACEOUS CALCEOLARIA.
Herbaceous calceolaria should now be growing freely, and will need constant watching to keep the plants from attacks of aphis. Few plants are more subject to this pest, as they will attack the plants in every stage of their growth. Careful fumigation is the best means of keeping the plants free of this pest, and to be effective the house in which the plants are growing should be fumigated every week or ten days. As soon as the plants begin to send up flower stems they should have thin sticks p\it to them to hold them outwards. On no account crowd the plants or in any way break or damage the foliage.
