AND EMERGENCY MEASURES. "It's in Your Kitchen" (Angus and Robertson) is a collection of simple homo remedies compiled by Sister A. Tarry, organising secretary and lecturer of the St. John Ambulance Association of New South Wales. It is designed particularly to help those who are remote from medical aid, and is concerned, chiefly with the use of the everyday materials that would be found in most kitchens. There are some particularly useful hints on home nursing—the preparation of invalid food, for instance, the sponging and lifting of a helpless patient and the fumigation of rooms. Other paragraphs deal with emergency measures, such as the treatment for poisons, bites and burns; and certain sections set forth undreamed, of and divers uses for such homely articles as bran, kerosene, treacle, charcoal, etc. The book is the result of sound theoretical knowledge combined with much practical experience and every reader will obtain from it information both sound and interest-
