SWIMMING.
TAUMARUNUI CLUB,
The first meeting of the newly-formed I Taumarunul Swimming Club was held on Thursday evening, the president, Mr. D. M. Simmon?, presiding over a large attendance. In his report he stated that the carnival held in the Wanganui Kiver on January 29 was a great success, and expressed thanks to the members of other clubs who competed with local competitors. At the commencement of the season . the club had no funds, but the year ended with a credit balance of £33 and no liabilities. Officeiß elected: —President, Mr. D. M. Simmons: committee, Messrs. W. Forbes, A. Crane, J. Sloan, J. M. McKenzie. S. Dryland, M. H. Wllks and the Rev. Father Conboy; secretary, Mr. R. Moss; men's captain, Mr. F. Robinson; ladles' captain, Miss J. Brown.
