FIJI'S PINEAPPLES.
ANOTHER ATTEMPT TO CAN
(From Our Own Correspondent.)
SUVA, September 14,
The two previous attempts to establish pineapple canning factories in Fiji failed tor Jack of capital.. There never was such an opportunity for making a first rate sure money-maker than in canning Fiii pineapples. Why outeide capital hag not done so long ago is remarkable. The Fiii pine has been demonstrated fully and most convincingly as the finest in the world for size, flavour and general canning qualities, yet it is neglected. Now it is announced that the Colonial Sugar Refining Company has taken over the two plants lying idle. Much ia expected from the transfer.
