LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
AFFAIRS OF REFEREES. TEAM TO MEET AMBULANCE. At the mooting of Auckland Rugby League Referees' Association last evening, Mr. L. E. Bull presiding, a report alleging in the junior management proceedings that a referee had been reprimanded by the association for his comment regarding a player he ordered off, was denied. The club which made the assertion was stated to have been misinformed. The social committee reported that all arrangements were complete for the annual picnic. Mr. jr. Wotherill announced having chosen the following members of the association to meet the Ambulance Association in the early match on No. 2 ground on Saturday: — Otto, Lennie, Hawkes, Stevenson, Hammond, Rogers, Mac-own. Farrell, Tate, Ivirkland, Kelly, Barnliill, Dixon, Chalmers, A. Simpson, Butt, Taylor, Pearson. Kinfl Country Matches. The Richmond Rovers seniors gave a brilliant display to beat the new King Country side at Tanmarunui on Saturday before a good attendance. The final figures were 24-22. The game was fast from bell to bell, and the visiting players were much impressed with the good showing made by their opponents, Woodmuss at five-eighth again being prominent, while Ericson, a forward, distinguished himself in a good set of forwards. Mr. O. Chalmers was referee. In the curtain-raiser a heavy Tnumarunui thirteen defeated Richmond fourths by 20-IG.
