WEATHER FORECAST.
FOR CITY AND PROVINCE. Tho Government Meteorologist issued to the "Auckland Star" this afternoon the following special weather forecast for tho Auckland Province to as far south 'as Tauranga, Kawhia and Hamilton: — Moderate to strong south-westerly winds, reaching gale force at times in exposed positions, but later decreasing, with weather cold and changeable, with scattered passing showers, but improving gradually. Seas rough on the west coast and moderate to rather rough on the east. A depression is now located east of Cook Strait and is moving south-east-wards, and an anti-cyclone is advancing across the Tasman Sea. For the Dominion. For 24-. hours from 9 a.m. this day:— The indications are for moderate to strong southerlics, to gale at times in exposed positions. Weather probably cold and changeable, with _ scattered showers, but gradually improving. Barometer rising. Seas moderate to rather rough. Hauraki Gulf Conditions. . The following report of weather conditions in the Hauraki Gulf was received from Tiritiri Island at noon to-day:— Wind, west-soutli-west, fresh; sea rough; weather cloudy, with passing showers; visibility fair; barometer low, but steady.
