YOUTH'S MASQUERADE. ALLEGED CAR THEFT. COURT GRANTS REMAND. i Dressed in a smart grey sports suit, Phillip Walter D'Arcy Stewart, the young man wlio was arrested on Saturday by Detectives Hayes and "Wilson, who found him masquerading as a female in a city hotel, appeared before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., in the Police Court to-day. The charge sheet described him as being a clerk, aged 19, and his address was given as 1, Moana Flats, Victoria Avenue, Wanganui. Stewart was charged with stealing at Wanganui on September 21 a motor car valued at £230, the property of Jack Herbert Luxford. Detective-Sergeant McHugh asked for a remand until September 30. "May I have my name suppressed?" asked Stewart. "No," said tile magistrate sternly. "I'm not going to suppress your name. I've heard about you. You are the boy who dressed yourself up as a girl and stole a car." "Yes, sir, he's the handsome young lady we arrested," said DetectiveSfergeant McHugh. (Laughter.) Stewart's application for suppression of name was refused, the remand as asked for being granted."
