GIANT FLYING BOATS FOR EMPIRE AIR SERVICES.—The Canopus, the first of the flying boats built at Rochester for Imperial Airways, moored on the Medway before her trial flight. These 'planes will be used on Imperial Airways' Empire and proposed trans-Atlantic routes, and will have accommodation for sixteen passengers for night flying on the overseas route to India, the Cape and Australia. Each machine will have a , y range of 1500 miles.
