RIDGEWAY ROAD.
START OF THE' WORK. FIFTY MEN ENGAGED! A start was made this morning by 50 men at Exhibition Drive on the construction of the Waitakere ridge scenic, road. The men were selected by the Government placement officer, and as the work develops others will be put' on until about 200 are engaged. The men will go to and from their homes to the job. The intention is to push the work on as rapidly as possible, and in addition to existing roads which will be used, thera will be a large amount of new construction at various point's along the proposed route.
