LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
AUCKLAND CONTROL BOARD. ROOPE ROOSTER SEMI-FINAL. NfEW JUNIOR GRADE TROPHY. At the meeting of the control board of the Auckland Rugby League last evening. Mr. G. Grey Campbell presiding, the senior draw for the Roope Rooster knockout semi-final, as drawn on Monday, was confirmed. Phelan Shield and Stallard Cup fixtures were allocated. The chairman extended a welcome to Mr. A. Rae, ot the referees' appointment board, which it was generally considered had functioned well this season. The Mount Albert senior and senior reserve teams were, granted permission to travel to Hawke's Bay at the week-end. Mr. J. W. Probert reported favourably on the match between Papakura and Manukau at Papakura on Saturday. Mr. Harold Green, donor of the Rout Challenge Trophy for senior schoolboy competition, in thanking the board for the recognition of the gift, offered to make another trophy for any grade nominated. The offer was gratefully accepted and referred to the junior management with a suggestion that the trophy be named the Benson Trophy in honour of Mr. R. Benson, a former chairman of the Auckland Rugby League. It was decided to suitably assist the schools' management in connection with a proposed gala day for the seven-a-side school players.
