LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
JUNIOR MANAGEMENT. SENIOR B KNOCK-OUT WINNERS. At the meeting of the junior management committee of the Auckland Rug>by League last evening, Mr. D. Wilkie presiding, complaint was made with the referee in a third grade match and after hearing groundsmen's reports a deputation was appointed to discuss the matter with the executive of the Referees' Association. A fourth grade player, ordered off for striking an opponent, was suspended for the rest of the season. A third grader got the benefit of a doubt and was cautioned for "chipping." Point Chevalier were declared winners of the senior B knock-out and congratulated. They beat Green Lane 22—9. A club delegate reported that sixth grade players suffered personal losses through pilfering of clothes at Victoria Park on Saturday. It was reported that Ellerslie had won the A section of the third grade and Ponsonby were leading by a point from Richmond in the B section. Nominations are being called for the knock-out competition. , The Glenora Club's application for its third grade team to travel to play at Ngaruawahia was granted, subject to grade match arrangements. Mr. J. Armstrong reported that the Ponsonby third grade team had a very successful trip to Whangarei, where it lost o—s to Northland (under 12.0) junior representatives. The hospitality of the home officials was warmly acknowledged.
