EXHIBITED IN LONDON.

FOUND IN TOULON 'FLEA MARKET.' , ! V 1 LONDON. On'exhibition at the Tate Gallery is a recently discovered painting by John Singleton Copley (1737,1815), Americanborn member of the Royal Academy. The picture is that of a little girl playing with a dog. i. , •Credit for the discovery belongs to Francis J. McEwen, artist, who has lent the picture to the gallery. The picture, measuring 35in by 27m, was found in a very dirty condition in the Marchc aux Puces —"flea market" T of Toulon The picture, which is of circumstantial rather than great artistic interest, came to the Toulon market from a sale at Bandol after the death of Mme. Heyie, to whom it had been left by a Miss, Stanley-Hunter, a dancer of American origin, of Paris* J .From its striking resemblance to a figure in a portrait group by Copley of himself and his family, the painting is believed- to represent one of his daughters.
