PANMURE SCHOOL.
FINE NEW BUILDING. OPENING ON SATURDAY. Replacing a building which has served ;he needs of the district for about G5 years, the new Panmure School on the Mount Wellington L Otahuhu concrete road -is to be officially opened on Saturday afternoon. The - fine new building incorporates many modern features, with spacious classrooms a4di. ample roocirfor recreation ;grounds. ? The new school is- some distance from the site of the present one, .and is actually in the Mount Wellington Road Board district.. The. /section is a fiveacre .one, slightly elevated and sloping upward from the frontage. All the rooms have a northerly aspect.
Built in wood, with a red tiled roof, the building is in the form of" an elongated. E. ' A corridor runs the full length of the building to give access tp all rooms, and by the use of outer windows for.almost the entire length of each room abundant natural light is assured. ' ■ • '?•
There are four large classrooms, the two centre rooms being divided with a folding partition, and cloak and staff ro'oins are provided. One'of the innovations which should be most appreciated is the central heating plant which lias been introduced. A circulating hot ■water system, feeds radiators installed in each room and erected parallel to the outer-wall for practically the full length of the building. .
