TRADE AGREEMENT.
CANADA—N.Z. EXTENSION AT OTTAWA. TO CONTINUE UNTIL 1937. (From Our Own Correspondent.) MONTREAL, July 24. Orders-iii-Couneil passed in Ottawa and Wellington extended the life of the C'anada-Xew Xeanland trade agreement for another year, making the date of expiration September 30, 1937. It is expected that before then the two Governments will have carried out. discussions on a new agreement, and preliminary conversation to that end have , already been held. i The Canadian order extending the I agreement was adopted at a session of j Cabinet Council and announced by the | Prime Minister, .Mr. Mackenzie King. There has been some discussion of sendI ing a trade mission to New Zealand and i Australia,, but it <is now considered j likely that all the necessary negotiations for new agreement with both countries will be carried out. when the Imperial Conference takes place in London next spring. Canada's trading arrangements with New Zealand have already been subjected to revisions a'nd extensions. Under the terms of the original document it was made possible to elTect these alterations and extensions by Order-in-Council with mutual agreement between the two Governments.
